Circus Treurdier is a Dutch theatre collective that also creates television and film productions. The company was founded by Thomas Spijkerman in 2008.
Since then Jan-Paul has been one of the key creatives of the group, working as a writer and actor in almost every production.
In addition to its many theatre productions, Circus Treurdier created the absurdist comedy TV series TreurTeeVee (English title: WeepTeeVee).
The series was nominated for several screenplay awards. The second season was nominated for a Golden Calf for best TV drama.
Since 2021 the collective has consisted of actors/writers Jan-Paul Buijs, Ellen Parren, Peter van Rooijen and designer Janne Sterke.
